What is mantle cell lymphoma (MCL)?

Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a cancer that starts in B cells—a type of white blood cell that forms in the bone marrow. MCL is named for the area where abnormal B cells come from in the body: the mantle zone of a lymph node. The mantle zone is located on the outer edge of a lymph node follicle.
